How can I trim down the size of my essays WITHOUT changing the document formatting?
Author: admin // Category: essays ofOn a lot of my assignments, I have a problem with fitting all my content into the constraints, and lose points.
The assignments (usually essays or papers) are in strict MLA format (which my teacher checks thoroughly — margins with a ruler, etc.). How can I cut down the size of my essay by editing and revising?
look for wordy phrase and try to make them as simple as possible. edit out unnesescary adverbs like really or very.

Some fonts are smaller then others, experiment with different ones. If MLA has a required font then I doubt there is anyway.

Reread your essay and delete the unwanted words or sentences.

You can definitely look in a thesaurus to find words that mean the same thing that you may be trying to say in one full sentence. Also, skim through and find sentences that are not that important to getting your point across in your essay.

Go back, reread everything and take out the stuff that really isn’t important. Ask someone in your class if you can borrow theirs to see what they left out and what you didn’t. Maybe you have a decent amount of information but maybe you detail/explain it too much. Good luck!
Hope I helped!
